Christmas Gifts - Wine & Cigars
Are wine of the month clubs as burdensome as some of the other like gifts you
give all the year through by giving, initially, just once?
You may have had the delightful opportunity to see the TV series “Everybody Loves Raymond,” or maybe
you at least got a chance to catch the episode where Ray’s parents express their
disappointment in getting a gift from Ray and Deborah from the fruit-of-the-month
club: Marie harps on the massive amounts of pears she and Frank have to endure,
yak, yak, yak, complain, complain.
It is a pretty funny statement about the casual attitude toward gift-giving and also speaks to more creative club gifts—
those you still do not have to get too involved in or spend too much money on
(unless you choose to) but can still offer a more clever or at least seemingly
thoughtful gift.
Likewise, some wine of the month clubs tap the sources of the world, to get you
the perfect regional or rare/hard-to-find selections. Others have a hierarchical
system/method for shipping out wines—so you can start at the value pack level, or
go into the premium ranges, or go all out and try the “signature” lines.
And, by the way, this is a great score for yourself, if you don’t wish to gift
the wines but prefer trying varieties from all of the wine regions of the world
yourself.
Now imagine as the cold sets in and you are sitting in front of a fireplace with
a glass of wine in one hand and a cigar on the other. You can lets go all of your
stress and just have a great quiet peaceful moment of your own. This might be a
greatest present you can have for yourself this holiday season.
